John Foster

John has worked as a solo pianist, accompanist for singers and instrumentalists, and pianist in chamber groups, including the Lydian Trio. He has performed throughout the UK and in Jersey, Germany and Hong Kong, where he also gave radio broadcasts.
For 16 years, John taught at RNCM Junior College and is a former Director of the St. Cecilia Youth Chamber Music Trust, also based in Manchester. He conducted the St. Cecilia Youth Chamber Orchestra in many venues, including RNCM and Queen Elizabeth Hall, London.
For more than 30 years, John worked as an ABRSM grade and diploma examiner, trainer and moderator, seminar presenter and international exam coordinator. His examining took him to more than 20 countries in 5 continents.
Currently, he performs, teaches piano, specialising in diploma preparation, and also coaches singers.
John is an adjudicator member of the British and International Federation of Festivals.
